Tommy Lee Wallace made his directorial debut on HALLOWEEN III (Universal, 1982) after a decade of experience in the film industry working as a set painter, animation cameraman, sound effects editor, production designer, film editor and screenwriter.A native Kentuckian, Wallace took a BFA in graphic design at Ohio University before moving on to the Masters Film Production program at the University of Southern California. For his thesis project he wrote and directed the award-winning STARMAN IN NOVEMBER.Early in his career, he served as Editor and/or Art Director on several John Carpenter features, including the original HALLOWEEN (for which he also created the much-imitated look of The Shape.) Wallace also directed multiple episodes of THE TWILIGHT ZONE (CBS) and MAX HEADROOM (ABC). He has written and/or directed over twenty-five projects since then, an eclectic slate including family dramas, dark and light comedies, horror melodramas and suspense thrillers.Recent work: FRIGHT NIGHT II, a sequel to the hit 1985 vampire film, VAMPIRES: LOS MUERTOS, a feature for Screen Gems starring Jon Bon Jovi and Diego Luna. Career high points include the controversial WITNESS TO THE EXECUTION (MOW, NBC) starring Sean Young and Tim Daly; COMRADES OF SUMMER (feature, HBO) starring Joe Mantegna; AND THE SEA WILL TELL (miniseries, CBS) starring Rachel Ward; and Stephen King’s, IT (miniseries, ABC) starring John Ritter, Richard Thomas and Tim Curry. Notable script work includes EL DIABLO (feature, HBO) for which he and his partners won a Cable ACE award; and TWELVE DAYS OF TERROR“ (MOW for FoxTV/NatureChannel) about the infamous shark attacks at Matewan, NJ in 1916.Tommy is slated to direct HELLIVERSITY this year on location in India. Wallace lives in Berkeley, California.
